Harrison Barnes, John Henson and Kendall Marshall will enter the NBA draft. Their collegiate careers ended last week at the Midwest Regional against Kansas.

Group against tax-funded ballpark halfway to petition goal

A group against using tax money to build a ballpark in Wilmington will take its petition campaign door-to-door. The group says it has almost half of the 2,900 signatures needed to introduce an ordinance to Wilmington City Council.

Kadeem Allen named first team all-state

New Hanover senior Kadeem Allen has earned first team all-state honors in high school basketball. He's also the co-player of the year. Allen and the New Hanover Wildcats won the 4-A state title earlier this month in Raleigh.

WPD makes bust, but heroin big problem in Port City

video Wilmington Police say $150,000 of heroin never made it to the Port City's streets. Investigators say this latest drug bust has made a huge dent in the local drug trade. The 7,500 bags of heroin came in from out of state to be delivered to our city's streets.

A last-minute change in plans for the Coast Guard Cutter Diligence this morning. It was scheduled to leave on a new mission, but a problem on board will keep the ship in port.

NRC schedules meeting with Global Nuclear Fuel

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission wants to meet with a Wilmington company about an apparent violation. The NRC has scheduled a pre-decisional enforcement conference with Global Nuclear Fuel for April 4 to discuss an apparent violation of NRC requirements related to an issue with the company's criticality warning system.

Katie Couric to guest-host 'Good Morning America'

Katie Couric will be an early riser all next week. ABC announced today that the former "Today" show anchor will be guest-hosting "Good Morning America," the rival wake-up show at Couric's current workplace.

Southport-Fort Fisher Ferry begins spring schedule Sunday
