The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office is moving its north end substation. Starting May 14, the substation will be at the Leland Fire/Rescue Station 5 on NC 133.

When the North Carolina General Assembly redrew the 3rd Congressional District, it extended it from the Virginia state line, down through Pender County and into Downtown Wilmington. I guess Rep. Walter Jones didn't get the memo, because to my knowledge, he's made no effort to come down and introduce himself to his new constituents.

A baby who received a heart transplant just 12 days ago has been released from the hospital. Hannah Dombroski got her new heart two weeks ago after doctors discovered she had an inoperable tumor in February.
