What's your favorite thing about the morning?

My favorite thing about the mornings is no traffic! On the weekends, I love to sit on my deck and drink my coffee. I watch the sun come up. It's so beautiful and peaceful.

What time do you wake up in the morning in order to get on set on time?

My alarm goes off at 2:30 a.m. I have an alarm across the room and several on my phone that go off. Also, I get everything ready the night before, so all I have to do is take my dog out, get dressed and get out the door.

What's your best memory working in news?

I'll never forget when I did a story on animal shelters. One of the dogs I showed in the story ended up being one that had gone missing eight months prior. After the story aired, the dog's owners called me and said they had seen their dog in my story. Then, they were able to reunite with him!

What's your funniest memory working in news?

When I worked in Duluth, MN, I was commenting on how much snow had fallen on snowmobile trails. I was trying to think of something to say, and I ended up saying, "All the snow really makes the trails more snowmobileable!" Yes, I made up a word. My co-workers laughed at me for months after that one.

What is your favorite breakfast food?

Simple. Apple with peanut butter on the side.

How do you take your coffee?

Very strong with cream.

What's your favorite thing about the morning?

It's definitely not the waking up part! I do love being able to clean the slate and start fresh each day. No matter what happened yesterday, today you get a chance to start over and try again!

What time do you wake up in the morning in order to get on set on time?

My alarm goes off around 2 a.m.! Of course there are several backups in case I hit the snooze button!

What's your best memory working in news?

I'll never forget the Carolina tornado outbreak in April 2011. It was a marathon day with eight hours of live coverage, but I think we were able to save lives that day.

What's your funniest memory working in news?

There was one morning last year where somebody brought in pizza for a segment on GMC. The crew thought it would be funny if I had a slice that I was munching on when they came back to me for the weather tease. It worked well, only half the cheese fell off the slice and onto the desk! To top it all off, our director caught me eating that cheese off the desk heading into break!

What is your favorite breakfast food?

French toast, hands down!

How do you take your coffee?

People ask me all the time how much coffee I drink, and believe it or not, I'm just not a coffee person! I do like tea, and I just can't shake a good hot chocolate. Yum.

What's your favorite thing about the morning?

I love being the only person on the streets in the morning. Driving into work the city is so beautiful!

What time do you wake up in the morning in order to get on set on time?

I get up at 2 a.m. and set three clocks to do it. I also have two dogs that start barking when they hear the alarm!

What's your best memory working in news?

I got to interview a Harlem Globetrotter! As a kid I always wanted to be a Globetrotter.

What's your funniest memory working in news?

My first Azalea Festival I interviewed Azalea Belles. I used the word "fantastic" 21 times in an hour!

What is your favorite breakfast food?

Every morning I have a chocolate/banana/peanut butter smoothie.

How do you take your coffee?

In large quantities.
