McCain to visit Port City Monday

The North Carolina Republican Party said Sen. John McCain will bring his presidential campaign to Wilmington Monday. McCain will hold a town hall meeting at Cape Fear Community College's Schwartz Center.

McCain's visit comes two days before he meets Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, in their final debate Wednesday in Hampstead, NY. One-Stop voting in North Carolina begins Thursday.

The NCGOP said free tickets to the event will be available starting at noon Saturday at the party's Wilmington office at 3145 Wrightsville Avenue. They are limited to two per person and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The party said tickets do not guarantee entry to the event Monday, which will also be on a first-come, first-served basis to ticket holders.

A McCain campaign spokesperson told NewsChannel 3 doors at the Schwartz Center will open at Noon Monday, and will close at 2pm - even if people are still standing in line. McCain will take the stage shortly after. Officials recommend getting there early!

This is McCain's first visit to Wilmington since earning the Republican nomination for president. Obama visited UNC Wilmington on May 5, a day before North Carolina's primary and one day after his primary opponent Sen. Hillary Clinton held a rally along the Wilmington Riverwalk.

I Agree

I must agree with you. Palin has more experience than Obama ever even thought of having. His partial term as Senator has been spent running for the office of president....what does that show me?? Nothing. He has the money backing of some of the biggest idiots in the world...Oprah for one. She is only good at making money. I, at least, don't have to worry about McCain's loyalty and I am certain that his wife has been a proud American all her life rather than that which Obammy's wife says that she has only been proud of America one time...just because they nominated her idiot of a husband. A sheep in wolf's clothing...comes close to Slick Willy Clinton with the smooth talk and nothing to back it up!! Obama can speak well, but where will that get ya???

Yes, Alaska IS the largest state. It ranks 47 in population with approx: 670,000 people. Compared to NC we have 8,800,000. Maybe the bears and wolves vote there... Oh wait, she shoots them, never mind. Another tidbit: Palin's never issued ONE order to Alaska's National Guard even though McCane (Cain) emphasized her role as the commander in chief of the Alaska National Guard. Hummmm.

re: Palin

Hey goodtimes...sure Alaska is big, but what's the popluation size compared to other states...huh?

You are awesome, you hit every point possible. Thank you for setting that lady who lives in the $350,000 Southern Brick House straight. :)

Oh, so you're and elitist

Oh, so you're and elitist Jolie/Pitt wanna be? Nice bandwagon you've jumped on there..good for you. Give yourself a big pat on the back.

re: Surprise!

So... have you done anything with your education? or just live in your big southern brick house and collect from your Hubby? I bet you are making your son vote for The Mavericks. Probably don't even give the poor boy a chance to be himself. I still can not believe that you would vote for a woman because you feel you need to support women. People like you need to live in a zoo. Good luck with your new adoptee, please let that person have it's own opinions and try not to brainwash him as you have been.

Oh, my science

Science, save me. Science have mercy on my soul.

I hope, for the sake of humanity, you never reproduce.

Maybe I see your point

Wow. Sounds like you really have made up your mind. I am a republican and have decided recently to vote for Obama. Palin is not my VP. We should have picked someone else. When I sit down to eat dinner with my family, all I hear on TV is negative ads from McCain. Then, Obama airs a positive message. I have voted republican for 50 years but now, I think we need some fresh blood...

Obama is a terrorist. Watch

Obama is a terrorist. Watch it all come together if he gets elected. Then cnn, msnbc, and all other librial media will cover it , and it will be late because you idiot's out there have already put this muslim in office..

More lies and negativity.. Please gain some education

The comment below.... THIS is how we can prove we have uneducated people in America... I support McCain and will vote for McCain but the mudslinging, negativity and lies are too much.. Obama is not a terrorist. Obama is not a Muslim.. Even McCain trying to show people lately that he is a cmpassionate man, has specifically told his supporters that Obama is a decent family man, and a Christian... So before ye cast the first stone learn your facts because all you have done with your statement is show everyone how undecuated and ignorant people can be. You are forgetting the real pieces to this election. BOTh canidates are good Christian Americans who love this country. Each man has different beliefs of where this country should go and how we need to act to get there. This election should not be mudslinging and slaming and trash takling and lies which uneducated people like you post. This should be about ideas and direction. Instead of slandering one another and each other's canidate... simply vote for who you think is best for this country and let it be but stop with the lies already.... The negativity is what has brought McCains campaign percentage down and ignorant comments such as yours do not help the Republican Party at all.. Please go crawl back under your rock. Here was your piece of ignorance and false information you posted.......... Obama is a terrorist. Watch it all come together if he gets elected. Then cnn, msnbc, and all other librial media will cover it , and it will be late because you idiot's out there have already put this muslim in office...................................... So for you posting this You have proven exactly what an uneducated fool is.... And you have further disgraced the Republican Party with your ignorance.

Hold up

Everyone should stop making this thing a racial issue. I am black and I ain't voting for no Obama. He don't act black and he ain't been around no black people. He mama is white and ain't nobody seen his daddy. He sound like a arab or something. If other black people is smart, they need to vote for McCane or don't vote at all. Obama ain't no american.

By "chance" he met Antoin

By "chance" he met Antoin "Tony" Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real estate developer in Chicago. Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named "Entrepreneur of the Decade" by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association". About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for Law School? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented "Rezar" which Rezko's firm. Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago. In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with "seed money" for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

you're no better

deciding your candidate based on tv THAT shows real brainpower. "he was nicer in his ad!" well dangit, that means he's the guy for the job! ...or kissing toosh is (and has always been) the democratic way to get votes. ...and I hate to break it to you, but The Jetsons is also a fake show. Don't believe every smiling face. They usually stab twice as hard.

You don't watch TV or listen to radio much...BOTH 102.7 and 101.3 have been playing NOTHING but Obama-lama-ding-dong ads...I haven't heard or seen ONE McCain ad...and I watch a LOT of TV...

we must be watching different channels because I feel the exact opposite. MANY negative ads from Obama.

not enough choices

I thought my dad raised a good question the other day. He asked.. "How come we get 50 choices with Miss America but only two (sometimes three) with the presidency?" At least the could put a "none of the above" choice out there. It would help a lot of us out. Just a lil something to make ya say... hmmm?

I have followed and voted in every election since 1972

I have never seen such a dismal choice: A Marxist or an evidently incomptetent manager who simply cannot mount an effective campaign against the most easily defeatable candidate in history. On one hand you have Obama's voting record on taxes and firearms, and on the other, McCain's voting record on the First Amendment. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid....because either way, we will suffer. (I'm still available if you folks want to make me Emperor and straighten out this forty year-old mess.)

Too Bad Bob Barr Doesn't Stand A Snowballs...

Notice how the media has totally left any mention of Bob Barr. He makes some good points. Too bad we cannot have an electoral process that: No money can influence; That masks the candidate as to how he or she looks; That has no mention of party affiliation. It would totally confuse most people who depend on one or all of the above influences and what the TV has told them.
