Today, a town leader came forward to talk about what she thinks needs to be done. Leland Town Councilwoman Martha Currie wants Mayor Futch to call a special meeting to discuss hiring a private investigator to look into the allegations but says Futch won't pull the trigger on the meeting. Brunswick County District Attorney Jon David told us he has asked the Attorney General to appoint another attorney to be the point person for anyone who wants to come forward with allegations against the town or the police department, but the AG's office says that's not exactly the case.
