Wilmington Ballpark Coalition
A new poll says a majority of Wilmington voters do not see a ballpark as a priority for the Port City, and an even larger majority say they're against spending tax money on the plan. Meanwhile supporters of the ballpark say it's a good investment for Wilmington. Francis De Luca, head of the Civitas Institute, which commissioned the poll, and Jim Hundley, chair of the Wilmington Ballpark Coalition, joined us in studio to debate the issues involved.

One day after Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo said the proposal for a ballpark is not a good one for the city, many of the main players who pitched the plan are MIA. We contacted the private developers, Mandalay Baseball and the Atlanta Braves and got very little response. Full story...

Former Braves baseball players are rallying in support of bringing a minor league team to Wilmington. Columbus County native Otis Nixon, Greg McMichael, Zane Smith and Jeff Treadway all came out to the pro ballpark rally in front of City Hall Saturday. Full story...
