Crews investigated an oil leak this morning along the Wilmington riverfront. The Coast Guard and Wilmington Fire Department were called out around 8 a.m. after someone walking along the Riverwalk spotted the oil in the Cape Fear River.

A pedestrian was hit and killed this morning on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Wilmington. The victim was Errol Dano Hosein, 23, of Hoboken, NJ.

Wilmington Police say a New Hanover High senior was shot in the leg near the school and was taken to the hospital. Police are still trying to figure out exactly where the shooting happened and just what happened to send a young woman to the hospital and close down the school.
