The volunteer group usually lends a hand to local farmers, but today they dug into one woman's backyard tomato garden. Sarah Daughtridge is famous for her heirloom tomatoes and peppers. But after facing a string of health setbacks, she says she was overwhelmed and unable to keep up her plants this year.

UNCW student charged in double fatal hit-and-run on I-40 during winter storm gets lower bond

Carolina Beach looks to change beach rules for pets
