Texas based non-profit looks to help local veterans

videoA Texas based non-profit agency aimed at preventing homelessness among veterans expanded to North Carolina this year. Family Endeavors opened offices in Charlotte, Fayetteville, and Jacksonville. Combined, the three offices work with more than 40 counties across the state.

UPDATE: Second Marine claims to be victim in sex extortion case

videoAccording to warrants from the Jacksonville Police Department, the investigation began when the Marine told officers Wednesday that he had met a person he thought was a female on the social networking site, MeetMe.com. The Marine said he agreed to meet this person at a home on King Street in Jacksonville.

Onslow County teacher/coach quits after sex crime charge

videoAn Onslow County teacher and coach has quit his job after being charged with a sex crime involving a child. John Tobias Sweeney, 36, of Jacksonville is charged with solicitation of a child by a computer or other electronic device to commit an unlawful sex act.
