A sea of yellow shirts greeted Wilmington City Council members at their meeting last night.
Dozens of firefighters turned out, asking the city council to raise their salaries in the new budget.
Firefighters, their families and friends walked to Tuesday's City Council meeting, all wearing yellow T-shirts showing solidarity.

Another blaze continues to burn in Pender County. This fire broke out late Wednesday afternoon, scorching hundreds of acres.
It's more than 600 acres and counting. The Forest Service says crews are making slow progress because of weather conditions and don't know when it'll be out.

Fire officials are lifting a ban on open burning for six counties in southeastern North Carolina.
The ban was lifted this afternoon for Duplin, Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, New Hanover and Pender counties.

Tuesday morning a fire erupted at a Wrightsville Beach condo. Police say it is a case of foul play.
The owner of the burning condo was out of town when the fire started, so the home should have been empty, but it wasn't.
