Raymond McGriff Jr. said he does not know why he was shot three times.

“Tall white male, bald black sun glasses, black shorts, black shoes, black gun just comes and out of nowhere and just grabs me from behind and slams me into the wall,” McGriff said.

McGriff faces three charges including resisting arrest, assault of government official, but he says things went differently.

“I have a panic attack ya know looking at him and it just happened so fast ya know in the heat of the moment after he threw me, boom! He automatically reached for his weapon,” McGriff said.

McGriff remembers being shot three times, twice in the back and one bullet grazing his cheek.

He said that he was celebrating good news of getting a job that day and does not know how he was being a threat to others.

After being shot he said he was scared and didn’t know what to do.

“I ran. I ran for my life. I mean if I’m wrong for that, I’m sorry man. I ran after I got shot in the face,”McGriff said.

The police report said McGriff reached for his gun when the officer tried to stop him. McGriff claims that never happened.

He has a permit for concealed carry and said the weapon was a BB gun pistol.

McGriff makes the case that he respects law enforcement, but wants answers for what happened.

“I was just waiting on his command, I just don’t see why I got shot,” McGriff said.

The police are unable to comment while the investigation is still going on.
