WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — According to Lori Sorensen, the spokesperson for the missing man’s family said the search for Julius Cole Rassin is over. Sorensen said he was found dead.
The NC Department of Public Safety issued a Silver Alert for Rassin earlier this week. He was last seen Feb. 16 at Kat 5 Kava on 123 Grace St. in downtown Wilmington.
Wilmington Police Department confirmed they identified a body yesterday at the foot of the Isabel Holmes Bridge to be Rassin. Officers responded to a call around 2:00 p.m. yesterday. WPD and Fire units pulled the body from the water and police said no foul play was suspected.
Officials said he was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.
Rassin’s family said they are thankful for all the support and assistance everyone has given them.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
