WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — What would the Azalea Festival be without the azaleas? Well, you’ll have plenty of chances to see the floral stars of the show when the 65th Annual Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour blooms this weekend.
The tour started when Queen Azalea Beth Troutman cut the ribbon this morning at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington.
In addition to Queen Azalea and her court, the ribbon cutting included the festival’s celebrity guests, the Azalea Princess and her court and the Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Belles, who will be at the gardens all weekend. WWAY’s Randy Aldridge was the Master of Ceremonies.
The Cape Fear Garden Club Azalea Garden Tour features 10 private gardens and New Hanover County’s Airlie Gardens. It runs through Sunday. Tickets are $25 and are available at all gardens on the tour. Click here for previews of the gardens.
