WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY/StarNews) — A long time Wilmington historian has given his last walking tour.
Bob Jenkins, a walking downtown Wilmington icon, dies at age 83.
For more than three decades, he’s been telling Wilmington’s history and pointing the way with his signature cane.
He guided private tours for anyone who wanted to hear the rich history of the city.
Funeral services will be held at St. Jude’s Metropolitan Community Church, 19 N. 26th Street, on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Jenkins was featured as an Extraordinary Person of the Week back in May 2014.
