Arrest made in August murder in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — Wilmington Police arrested Trent Williams, 22, for the murder of Quayshon McRae earlier this year.

Detectives arrested Williams Monday afternoon in the 1600 block of Moore Plaza. He is charged with first degree murder.

Police responded to the 1300 block of Greenfield Street around 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 16 in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located the victim with gunshot wounds. EMS transported McRae to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

A subsequent search warrant to Williams’ residence on Monday afternoon yielded two stolen firearms and 26 grams of marijuana, leading to the arrest of Williams’ wife, Leah Faulk, 25.

She is charged with possession of stolen firearms, possession with intent to sell/distribute a schedule VI controlled substance, and maintaining a dwelling. She is also charged with possession of stolen goods from the Family Dollar from the looting incident on Sept. 15.

They are both being held at New Hanover County Jail.
