WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say they’ve obtained warrants for the arrest of a driver they believe is responsible for a hit-and-run crash downtown last month that seriously injured a man.
Police say they have warrants for Alyssa Marie Angus, 27, after multiple people came forward this week with information in the hit-and-run. Angus, of Hampstead, is charged with hit and run causing serious injury, failure to yield causing serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Police say Sartain had the right of way and was midway through the intersection when the car hit him, throwing him into the air and onto the top of the vehicle. He rolled off the hood of the car and into the street. As he was in the street, the car took off running over him, shattering his foot and ankle.
Yesterday CrimeStoppers announced a $5,000 reward in the case. There’s no word on if anyone will get the money.
