Man injured, suspect wanted in downtown Wilmington shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking for a suspect after a morning shooting near a downtown marina.

Wilmington Police Spokeswoman Linda Thompson said the 911 call came in around 7:40 a.m. on Monday.

The shooting happened in the 900-block of Nutt Street by the marina.

When police arrived, they say they found a middle-aged man shot. The suspect reportedly confronted him and they argued, leading the suspect to shoot him before running away.

Thompson said the victim was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still looking for suspect, but no description is available at the moment.
