Trio arrested in connection to man’s assault, car theft in Leland

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Three people were arrested in connection to a car theft and an assault that left a man with serious injuries, according to Leland police.

The Leland Police Department says it happened Monday afternoon around 12:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Carolina Avenue.

Alquan Depree Mosley, Alexander Allen Cain, and Trinity Leigh Clemmons, were arrested in connection to the crime.

According to arrest warrants, Mosley and Cain allegedly assaulted a man, leaving him with  a fractured eye socket, broken jaw, and multiple teeth knocked out. The man was treated at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

The warrants show the trio stole a 1991 Honda Accord, boots, keys, and a wallet.

Leland PD says the victim was an acquaintance of at least one of the suspects.

Mosley is charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and common law robbery.

Cain is charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury, common law robbery, and larceny of a motor vehicle.

Clemmons faces a larceny of a motor vehicle charge.

All three are currently in the Brunswick County jail. Cain and Mosley each received a $50,000 bond and Clemmons received a $10,000 bond.
