Ocean Isle Beach to reopen public parking, lift short-term rental restrictions

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County beach town is removing several limitations that were in place due to the coronavirus.

Starting Thursday, Ocean Isle Beach is lifting their short-term rental restrictions, reopening public parking, and you’ll be able to get back on the beach for exercise or relaxation.

They say beach chairs will be allowed.

Public gatherings are still limited to 10 or less people and social distancing is mandatory. All public buildings will stay closed.

The beach strand in Wrightsville Beach, Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, Surf City, and Oak Island has reopened for exercise only, but no public parking. Holden Beach is open for exercise and relaxation. The strand in Sunset Beach remains closed. North Topsail Beach and Topsail Beach are open, but there’s no public parking available.
