Council agrees to rewrite resolution involving Independence Boulevard
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Tonight the Wilmington City Council agreed to rewrite a resolution involving the extension of Independence Boulevard.
After much disagreement among council members it was decided to continue the discussion until the November 18th council meeting. Council feels that there should be more public input on the matter and that alternatives to the original plan be explored.
Councilwoman Laura Padgett feels that the current proposal will be very detrimental of the city. While Councilman Charlie Riverbark feels that the plan simply needs some reworking but is not overall bad.
