Woman accused of taking $500 from vet hospital

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — Bladen County deputies arrested a woman they said stole money from her place of employment.

Investigators arrested Lisa Merriman, 58, Wednesday and charged her with 21 counts of larceny by employee. She’s jail under at $21,000 bond.

Deputies said Merriman took more than $500 from the Elizabethtown Veterinary Hospital during a two-year period when a client paid with cash. Merriman was caught doing this on surveillance cameras at the business, according to a news release.
