Car hits hydrant on Carolina Beach Road
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the second time in less than a week, a car has taken out a fire hydrant in Wilmington.
This morning a car trying to turn into a gas station at Carolina Beach Road and Wellington Avenue hit the hydrant and street sign.
The crash knocked out water to one business in the area, police said. They expected some delays for a couple of hours in the area as crews work on repairs.
Police said there will be no charges in the incident.
A week ago a crash in the intersection of S. 5th Avenue and Castle Street knocked out a hydrant and sent both drivers to the hospital.
