Bomb squad responds to suspicious device in Leland

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police Department Bomb Squad along with the Leland Police Department and the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious device off Old Lanvale Rd. in Leland.

Officials say they wanted to be cautious and investigate the device fully.

Investigators were seen carrying brown bags from the area before leaving the scene.

They say no one nearby was in danger.
