WPD investigating shooting Monday night

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating an armed robbery that left one man shot.

The robbery happened just after 10:45 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of S. 5th Street. Police said a male victim reported a suspicious person approached him and a female in a vehicle. The female went to another vehicle, while the male victim ran toward a nearby home. When the victim got to the home, he said the suspect shot him in the buttocks.

Police said the suspect was last seen getting into the car of the female.

The victim’s injuries appear to be non-life threatening. There have been no arrests. There’s no word on what was taken in the robbery.
