Deputies investigating after bullet hits home in Kings Grant

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies are investigating a shooting they say sent a bullet into a living room where people were inside at a home in Kings Grant last night.

New Hanover County Sheriff’s deputies say around 8:30 p.m. they got reports from multiple callers who said they heard several shots fired in the 4900 block of Lord Tennyson Drive. That’s where deputies say they found shell casings in the street.

Investigators also discovered a bullet inside the living room of a home nearby, where they say people were inside at the time of the shooting. They say there was a bullet hole in the side of the garage at the home.

Deputies say witnesses spotted a dark SUV in the area after hearing the shots fired, but were unable to give a detailed description. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
