Oak Island Town Manager stepping down in spring

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — Oak Island will soon need a new town manager.

Steve Foster says he plans to step down at the end of March. He says he wants to take a break and see what’s next, which may be retirement.

Foster is a long-time Oak Island resident and has been on the job there since September 2012. Among the many other jobs he’s had over the year was town manager of Long Beach in the early 1980s before consolidation made it part of Oak Island.

Foster says he may stay longer in his current job if needed as the town finds his successor.
