Police investigate after trio robs delivery driver at gunpoint

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are searching for a trio they say pulled a gun on a delivery driver dropping off food at a Wilmington home Sunday night.

Wilmington Police say it happened at a home at 1207 Princess Street around 8 p.m. That’s where they say a Chinese food delivery driver was met by a man standing in front of the home.

While the delivery driver was talking to the man, police say that’s when two other men appeared from behind a tree. Police say one of the three men pulled a handgun on the driver, demanding food and money. Officers say the trio then took off running.

Police say the delivery driver told them the three men looked to be between the ages of 18 and 20. There’s no word yet on what the trio got away with. WPD is investigating.
