WPD: Duo robs residents at gunpoint inside home

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say two men forced their way inside a Wilmington home and held the residents at gunpoint before robbing them.

Wilmington Police say the home invasion happened just after 4 a.m. in the 1600 block of Orange Street. That’s where officers say the duo stole an iPhone and cash from inside the home before they took off running.

Police say the residents told them one of the men was wearing a mask and holding a small, silver handgun during the robbery. The suspects are described as both being around 6′ tall.

Officers say one of the men has dreadlocks and a beard, and was wearing a red jacket and jeans at the time of the crime. They say the other man was wearing a green jacket and jeans. WPD is still investigating.
