1 hurt, 1 charged in MLK crash
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A woman was hurt and another driver cited after a crash this morning at a busy Wilmington intersection that backed up traffic in the area.
Police responded to MLK Parkway and College Road shortly before noon. Witnesses told police a dump truck made an improper left turn from College onto MLK and hit a 2005 Toyota minivan. The driver of the minivan was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The dump truck driver, Larry Britt, 63, of Farmville, has been charged with making an improper left turn. Britt was not hurt.
Police say the Wilmington Fire Department’s Hazmat Unit cleaned up some fuel that spilled from the dump truck.
