McCrory announces campaign website upgrade

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Pat McCrory’s upgraded campaign website provides stronger evidence North Carolina’s governor is planning to seek a second term in 2016.

McCrory emailed supporters Tuesday announcing the launch of www.patmccrory.com. It highlights what he considers an impressive turnaround in the state’s economy and education improvements since taking office in January 2013.

The Republican and former Charlotte mayor pointed to a new video about his first two years as governor on the site and asked viewers to consider making a donation. He says many things have yet to be accomplished.

McCrory said last month he hadn’t finalized making a re-election bid but hoped to run.

Democratic Attorney General Roy Cooper is planning a gubernatorial run, while Durham attorney Ken Spaulding announced last year he was seeking the Democratic nomination.
