Man convicted in Leland murder

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man was convicted in a Leland murder Monday.

James Ketchum was found guilty of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felon in possession of a firearm in the Jan. 6 shotgun slaying of Jason Anderson in his Leland trailer.

A Brunswick County jury deliberated two and half hours Monday before reaching its verdict, according to the Star News. Ketchum was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Ketchum, 44, also was charged in the armed robbery of the Leland Pop Shop the day before Anderson was killed.
