Wreath laying at National Cemetery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wreaths were laid out at the national cemetery in Wilmington Saturday.

Hundreds of people came out to the annual ceremony done by an organization called Wreaths Across America as a remembrance of fallen veterans during the holidays.

Local leaders and members of all branches of the military were on hand to mark the occasion.

One wreath was placed in the center of the cemetery too for each branch of the service plus one for MIA/POW vets as well.

The ceremony is one of hundreds more just like it across the country.
