UPDATE: 911 calls give insight into deadly shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One person is dead after a shooting at Nixon Street and Love Alley in Wilmington Tuesday.

Police said the call came in at 11:04 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found Sha’quan Boston, 20, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene.

911 calls paint a desperate picture of the moments just after Boston was gunned down.

CALLER: “I think he’s shot in the face.”
911 DISPATCH: “He got shot in the face?”
CALLER: “I think so, ma’am.”
911 DISPATCH: “Is he breathing?”
CALLER: “Oh lord. (inaudible screaming).”
911 DISPATCH: “He’s not breathing?”
CALLER: “I don’t know, hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, man, please.”
911 DISPATCH: “They are on the way. They are on the way.”

No word on any arrests or suspects at this time.
