Bank employee injured in armed robbery

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville police are looking for the person or persons responsible for a bank robbery.

It happened at the BB&T on South Madison Street just after 11:30 a.m. today. Investigators say the robber or robbers had handguns.

Police say a bank employee was injured in the robbery and taken to the hospital via ambulance. They added the worker wasn’t shot, and her injuries were not life-threatening.
