Most road construction to stop for Memorial Day weekend

RALEIGH (AP) — The state Department of Transportation says it will suspend most road construction over the Memorial Day holiday to help ease traffic delays and improve driving conditions.

Construction will be stopped on interstate and US highways from 4 p.m. Friday through 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Construction on Interstate 40 East in Durham from NC Highway 147 to the Orange County line will be suspended from 6 a.m. Friday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.
