Jenkins no-show at Panthers workout

CHARLOTTE (AP) — Carolina defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was a no-show at the team's off-season coaching session today, a month after the Panthers failed to trade the three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Jenkins was one of only two players who failed to attend the opening day of three weeks of workouts. Rookie safety Jessie Daniels was attending to family matters.

Jenkins' agent, Tony Paige, did not immediately return a phone call today seeking comment.

The practices are officially voluntary, but players usually attend.

General manager Marty Hurney says he wishes Jenkins was at the session, but points out it is voluntary.

Damione Lewis worked in Jenkins' spot with the first team today.

The Panthers dangled Jenkins as trade bait before the NFL draft, but were unable to work out a deal.
