New wing opens at Dosher Memorial Hospital

SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Dosher Memorial Hospital opened their brand new fifteen bed patient care unit this afternoon. Each of those rooms is filled with the latest health technology to improve the stays of patients and their families.

According to hospital board of trustees member Joe Agovino, this renovation was really needed.

“The building that we had here was built in the 1970’s and it really didn’t meet today’s standards. For example we actually couldn’t get wheelchairs into our restrooms,” said Agovino.

Agovino said this new wing is really bringing the hospital into the 21st century.
