Pender County men may be next American Inventors

A Burgaw man has the chance to win one million dollars for inventing a new children’s game. He’s debuting his creation on ABC’s American Inventor.

Andre Shulikov came up with the idea of Propki as a child growing up in Russia. With the help of his friend Sophea Pich, the two spiced up the game enough to earn a spot on American Inventor.

“We were just happy to get on,” said Pich.

The object of Propki is to flip metal medallions without dropping them.

Shulikov says, “The game is designed to get the kids to interact with one another and hand and eye coordination. What were trying to do is get them to go out and be active, play a fun game, challenge them.

Shulikov and Pich say if they do win American Inventor, they have big plans for how they’ll spend the big prize.

“If we win American inventor, a million dollars will go a far way.”

“Its not going to be just a game, it’s going to be cartoons based on the characters, T-shirts, merchandise, everything,” said Pich.

Regardless if they win or lose, they say they plan to stick together to make Propki as big as possible.
