Police searching for several suspects after armed robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are investigating after they say several suspects forced their way inside a Wilmington home early Wednesday, stealing electronics and money.

Wilmington Police say it happened around 2:45 a.m. at 4616 McClelland Drive. That’s where they say three people were inside when someone began knocking on the front door. Officers say when the victims went to the door, three unknown men entered through the back door.

Police say once inside, the trio then opened the front door to allow another man inside. Police say two of the robbers had guns when they stole video games, cell phones, cash and clothing from inside before they took off from the scene.

Police say the suspects were wearing dark clothing at the time of the crime. WPD is still investigating.
