Two die on way to Brunswick County air show

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Two aviators on their way to an air show in Brunswick County died yesterday in a plane crash.

John and Sherry Horn were traveling to attend the Navion Association’s annual convention in Southport.

The couple left eastern Iowa Monday and were flying in a post world war two aircraft, when they crashed in Colona, Illinois.

The Navion Association’s president says that weather may have been the cause of the crash and offered his condolences to the victim’s family.

John and Sherry were in their fifties and shared a passion for restoring and flying vintage aircrafts.
