Freaker Feet receives $250,000+ to fund project

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The next project planned for Wilmington-based Freaker USA is now a reality, thanks to a Kickstarter initiative.

Their new product, Freaker Feet, is a new line of socks with the same kind of flair you see with their Freakers. Those one size fits all beverage insulators were featured on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in 2012 and are now sold in more than 2,000 stores worldwide.

The Kickstarter funding period ended today with more than $255,000 — above their goal of $250,000.

When WWAY spoke to Founder Zach Crain in January about the new line, the main focus of his company is keeping production in America.

“You’re putting it on just for a sock like, ‘This is just a sock,'” Crain said. “Now it’s like, ‘This is a sock but I’m also feeling really good about it and where it came from.'”
