Team in Training program runs for charity

WILMINGTON — A group of runners is training for a special cause.

The Team in Training program runs for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They're dedicated to running the 26.2 miles to raise money for blood cancer research.

Jennifer Berting says she's running in memory of her grandmother who died of leukemia.

Berting said, "I'm raising money to aid and research and education for the society. My grandmother died of leukemia, so it was a neat thing for me to do in honor and memory of her."

The marathon is in October in Dublin, Ireland.

Jennifer and her team need to raise $5,000 before August 2 to enter.
