Vertex Rail might get second entrance

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington City Council discussed the latest on the Vertex Rail facility.

The city and county along with NCDOT will be funding an expansion from Raleigh Street to River Road as an entrance for the facility’s employees.

Vertex expects to employ 1,300 people when it opens its doors.

The city agreed to split the $600,000 price tag with the county.

County Commissioners have yet to vote on that.
