Film crews hoping to see local show picked up
WILMINGTON — Local film crews are hoping a new TV show will be picked up by a major network.
Crews were filming for the television show “Whittaker Bay” Sunday afternoon in Carolina Beach.
They’ve already shot five episodes. Former Dawson’s Creek star John Wesley Shipp is directing three of them.
Shipp also stars in the series. The show is about a group of teens at a cross-road in their lives.
Producers say a number of networks are interested in picking up the show including ABC Family. They hope to have “Whittaker Bay” on the air by October.
