Motorcycle excursion raises over $100,000 for charity

More than 40 people participated in last week's three-day motorcycle excursion to raise money for local children's charities.

The group covered more than 500 miles, cruising from Boone to Burlington to Rocky Mount, finally ending in New Bern.

More than $100,000 was raised in the event sponsored by Trinity Children Foundation of Kure Beach.

Proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls home of Lake Waccamaw and the Carousel Center of Wilmington.
