Police searching for suspect after gas station robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are searching for a man who tried to rob a man before robbing a gas station.

It happened at the Han-Dee Hugo’s on Eastwood Road Friday afternoon after 4:30 p.m. Police say a white man wearing a black ski mask tried to rob a man in the parking lot. When the victim refused, police say the suspect then went inside and robbed the store.

Police say the robber had a handgun during the robbery but no injuries were reported. The robber left the scene on foot, police said.
