Man charged in child rape investigation spanning almost 10 years

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is facing several child sex charges, including first degree rape. Police say the alleged crimes started as early as 2006 and involved one child.

Jail records show James Bader, 54, was arrested Sunday; he’s facing charges including first degree rape, indecent liberties with a child and crimes against nature. He’s in jail under a $1 million bond.

Bader is due in court Monday.
