Sarus Dance Festival visits Wilmington

WILMINGTON — Dancers from all over the world are taking over the City of Wilmington this weekend.

To kick of the Sarus Dance Festival, Alban Elved Dance Company had human kinetics dancers in the window of Bottega Art and Wine in downtown Wilmington. This form of dance is just a sample of what the dancers will be showcasing this weekend.

You can catch the dance festival Friday night at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier until 7:30 p.m.

Alban Elved Dance Company Director Karola Luttringhaus said, “They’re performing with such a variety of works it’s hard to describe it all in one sentence. You just have to come out and see it.”

Saturday the dancers will be performing at Wrightsville Beach, downtown Water Street and the Dance Cooperative. Sunday they will be at the Cameron Art Museum.
