25 immigrants charged with identity theft
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A federal prosecutor says current and former employees at the huge Smithfield Foods slaughterhouse in Bladen County face identity theft charges as well as immigration violations after raids last week.
U.S. Attorney George Holding says 25 people arrested in raids in four counties face identity theft charges. Another three or four people face only immigration violations.
Holding says the people charged are current or former employees at the Smithfield plant.
