Six teens escape from Pitt County jail
GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities are searching for six teenagers who escaped from a Pitt County jail.
Five boys and a girl escaped Tuesday night from the Pitt Regional Juvenile Services Center. Authorities think two of the boys escaped on foot while the others might have stolen a state-owned vehicle and fled.
Sheriff's deputies are searching woods near the jail and other locations.
The Highway Patrol is assisting in the search.
